چکیده
Due to high swelling-shrinkage caused by climate change, expansive soil is a significant problem in light construction, road embankments, and slope stability (wet dry). The physical mechanical properties of the are affected repeated drying wetting cycles, particularly changes volume, negative pore water pressure (suction), compressive strength. Fly ash used increase strength reduce plasticity swelling address this issue. Because its chemical properties, fly an excellent choice for low-cost improvement. purpose investigation determine static stabilization under Proctor standard compaction conditions. Mechanical were investigated due moisture content, saturation, suction, cycles. soil's suction was measured using Whatman #42 filter paper, tested free compression test. According findings, mixture altered expansion shrinkage behavior soils lowering consistency limit. At same addition 5% 15% increases significantly. Compressive (qu) stress-strain modulus (Ei) decreased 1-4 cycle after four very small or insignificant. proposed method effectively reduces loss environmental (wetting-drying). As result, it contributes significantly development materials structural damage soils.

the effect of temperature on the behavior of an expansive soil during drying and wetting cycles
in this research the mechanical behavior of an expansive soil (with different pore fluid) was investigated under the constant and variable temperature through experimental tests. the soil samples with different pore fluid (distilled water, nacl and cacl2 with concentration of 250 gr/lit) were prepared by static compaction method. experimental testes were conducted in two modified odometer under...
متن کاملPotassium status of two clayey calcareous soils treated with zeolite under wetting-drying cycles
Zeolite application to clayey soils may change potassium (K) pools distribution and its release rate. To test this hypothesis, two heavy-textured calcareous soils with different mineralogy (smectitic and mixed by XRD) from southern Iran were selected. Experiment was a completely randomized factorial arrangement. Treatments consisted of two soils and two zeolite levels (0 and 5%) and wetting-dry...

Abstraet-The limitations of existing methods for the prediction of swelling behavior of compacted softs are examined. Both the purely theoretical approach and the purely empirical approach are found to be inadequate. The present study is based on a semi-empirical approach in which a model of swelling behavior is developed leading to equations relating swelling potential or swelling pressure of ...

Disposal of an industrial waste like flyash produced from burning of coals in thermal power stations requires a large land area. The decreasing availability of good construction site has led to the increased use of low lying areas filled up with industrial wastes whose bearing capacity is low. In-situ treatment of such industrial waste fills; in order to improve their bearing capacity with rein...
